NEWEL IN THE INDUSTRY

The Kips Bay Decorator Show House

The Kips Bay Decorator Show House is the most prominent interior design event in New York City. For those unfamiliar with the design phenomenon, each year a group of renowned interior designers are chosen to create their own space inside an empty Manhattan home.  The event is considered a must-see for design enthusiasts as it is known to influence emerging interior design trends.

The Kips Bay Decorator Show House launched in 1973 to raise funds for the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club, an after school enrichment program for New York City children.  For more than four decades, Newel/Newel Props has collaborated with the designers helping to bring their vision to life. We are extremely proud to be a leading event vendor and show our support for this great organization.

In honor of the 47th Kips Bay Decorator Show House, opening on May 1st, we’ve decided feature some of our favorite designs featuring Newel inventory throughout the years.  We hope you enjoy this trip down Kips Bay memory lane as much as we’ve enjoyed participating in this annual event.
