DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT

José Carlino Founder and Principal of José Carlino Design

José Carlino believes interior design is art designed to meet objectives, and a truly gifted interior designer is an individual who translates the client’s thoughts into a visual masterpiece. José has over 30 years of experience as an interior storyteller. His passion for interiors earned him recognition at Architectural Digest Top 100 design firms including Bunny Williams, David Easton and JP Molyneaux.

José founded his Milwaukee based firm in 2013. Today, José Carlino Design offers world-class style and design, while cultivating and honoring a sense of place and home. Clients of José Carlino Design appreciate that they work directly with José throughout the entire project.

Born in Caracas, Venezuela, his worldly upbringing, vast travels, and higher education at Franklin University in Switzerland, as well as, University of Miami – Coral Gables are some of the influences that drive his inspiration today. José focused his studies in Humanities, Classical Art and Architecture. His love for classical music and art drives José to actively support the greater performing arts community. This passion, enhanced by 20 years of experience with New York City’s prominent designers, Bunny Williams, David Easton and JP Molyneaux, has honed José’s vision. Now, as principal of his own firm, José gives back to the industry by promoting interior design as a career path and hiring design students for internships in addition to young Milwaukee talent.

A visual masterpiece in interior design is not easy to come by. The ability to blend a focus on design and comfort with a client’s desire for casual or elegant styles in traditional or modern architecture is a rare commodity in today’s interior design community but one in which José excels.

Regardless of the project, José’s focus revolves around one person: The Client.
